Here's a cover from a jazz track by Eva Olmerova (from Czechoslovakia), released on my EP "Rage Against My Computer".
That song is a pure gem, because of the story between the narrator (Story Teller) and the singer.
I love when the music is telling stories, when it's delivering messages.
Technologically speaking, i synchronized the MPC4000 and the SP1200.
Main benefit of the MPC4000 is his memory (internal 80GB + RAM 512MB).
That is such a joy to work on it, a real comfortable little studio.
It is the most complete MPC from the serie, but i don't use it to sample anymore.
Its converters are not as good and interesting to use as those on the MPC60 or 3000,
now i digitize my analog samples in Wave / 44100 hertz / 16 bit, using my "Prismsound Orpheus" soundcard
and then, i send those Wave files into the MPC4000 using the USB port!
About the SP 12 & 1200, it's an incredible drum machine because of its 12bit grain, converters,
sequencer, dynamic and heaviness.
Best thing to do is synchronizing a few machines (samplers, drum machines, synthetizers).
It blends different colors and grains together in one track.
That way of blending a few machines together (like producers from the golden era) was creating a particular touch
and sound signature. My top 3 samplers: MPC3000, SP1200, ASR-10.
Now, here's a wise advice from an "old timer": never sell your old machines. Otherwise, you'll regret it...
Toys and gadgets like SP404 are funny to use, but it's absolutely low quality.

Une cover d'un titre jazz d' Eva Olmerova originaire de Tchécoslovaquie extraite du EP " Rage Against My Computer " .Cette chanson est une merveille pour son histoire entre le narrateur ( story teller ) et la chanteuse . J'aime quand la musique raconte des histoires et qu'elle est porteuse de messages .
Au niveau de la réalisation , ce titre est un bon exemple de combinaison et de synchronisation entre les deux machines que sont la MPC 4000 et la SP 1200 ..
L'avantage principal de la MPC 4000 , c'est sa capacité de mémoire de 80GB interne et 512 MB de ram , un pur bonheur pour travailler confortablement , c'est un studio à elle tout seul . C'est la MPC la plus complète de sa génération , par contre je ne sample plus avec , ses convertisseurs n'étant pas aussi bons et intéressants que la MPC 60 ou 3000 , je numérise mes samples analogiques en Wave / 44100 hertz / 16 bit grâce à ma carte son Prismsound Orpheus et je balance les fichiers Wave dans la MPC 4000 grâce à son port USB !
Pour ce qui est de la SP 12 et 1200 , c'est bien sur son grain 12bit , ses convertisseurs , son séquenceur , sa dynamique , sa lourdeur qui en fait une boite à rythmes unique .
L'idéal , et certainement le plus intéressant , est de synchroniser plusieurs machines ( samplers , boite à rythmes , synthé ) afin d'avoir des couleurs et des grains différents au sein d'un même track . Ce sont ces différentes combinaisons de machines qui faisaient l'identité de chacun des producteurs de la grande époques.
Mon trio de légende en matière de samplers serait la MPC 3000 , la SP-1200 et l'ASR-10 .
Conseil avisé de " Old Timer " , ne revendez jamais vos vieilles machines car à chaque fois , on le regrette ... Les gadgets type SP 404 , c'est marrant mais c'est le tiers-monde du son .

After listening to Degiheugi's large discography, my choice settled on this album. It seems to me to be the most successful. I appreciate the richness of hiphop trip-pop jazzy-chill nu-soul sounds. The French vocal are amazing. jef37
