In this retrospective, there are only a few tracks coming from my collaborations with French artists
(Svinkels, Passi, les Sages Poètes de la Rue and a few others...).
One of those particular experiences i had was the release of third Big Red's solo album (Big Red is a member of Raggasonic).
I worked on his 2 debut albums, and back then for that third album, the idea was to go to Jamaica and record tracks with
the greatest reggae artists.
Me and my homie Faster Jay (from Kif Records label) collaborated with Michael Rose from "Black Uhuru", Sasha,
Suggar Millot (R.I.P) and last but not least Anthony B who appears on that track.
Music is just everywhere in Jamaica!
It is the essence of music and sound, you can see people waiting in front of studios to record their riddim.
You usually see sound systems when walking down the streets in Kingston, rhythm is everywhere:
in cars, street markets, shops, restaurants...
People are recording music everyday, they're living and breathing music, "Life is music"!
I haven't been to Brazil or Cuba yet, but for any music lover,
Jamaica remains a major pilgrimage!

Dans cette rétrospective , il n'y a que très peu de titres extraits de mes différentes collaborations avec des artistes français (Svinkels , Passi , les Sages Poètes de la Rue entre autre...) .
Une expérience m'a particulièrement marqué , c'est la réalisation du 3 eme album solo de Big Red , membre du groupe Raggasonic. Ayant participé à ses 2 premiers albums , l'idée pour le 3 eme était de partir en Jamaïque enregistrer des titres avec des grands noms du reggae , accompagné par mon vieux compère Faster Jay du label Kif Records , nous avons collaboré pour la production de ce disque avec Michael Rose du goupe Black Uhuru , Sasha , Sugar Millot (r.i.p.) et enfin Anthony B sur le titre que je vous propose ici .
La présence et la puissance de la musique en Jamaïque est juste incroyable ! C'est la quintessence de la musique et du son , on fait la queue devant les studios pour enregistrer son riddim , on rencontre des Sound Systems quotidiennement au hasard des rues de Kingston , le rythme sort de partout : des voitures , des marchés , des boutiques , des restaurants , on enregistre tout les jours , on chante comme on respire , " life is music " !
Je n'ai pas encore visité le Brésil et Cuba mais pour n'importe quel amoureux de musique en général , la Jamaïque reste un pèlerinage incontournable !
The main goal of this retrospective is to set a brief overview of my carreer,
because a few parts of it are unknown especially to those of you who are following me
since my debut solo album "Le Bienheureux".
The second goal is to raise funds to help me produce my next album,
and also be able to collaborate with guest artists on this concept-album.

After listening to Degiheugi's large discography, my choice settled on this album. It seems to me to be the most successful. I appreciate the richness of hiphop trip-pop jazzy-chill nu-soul sounds. The French vocal are amazing. jef37
