It was the main hit from my second solo album "Freedom", one of the most beautiful tracks i've ever done!
It is dusty, and also deep and raw. I felt I really had to pay tribute to the original song "The Girl From Salina" by Christophe,
which is absolutely amazing. I had to honour this original song that i sampled.
I tried my best here, and the magic did happen, as soon as i started to use the original break on "II pianoforte" by Farida Gangi,
on famous Polish record label called Muza.
As far as I know, this break had never been used before.
I whish i could have invited Christophe to sing on my own version live on stage,
like i usually say, "Big projects come from big dreams"
Mastering work was the icing on the cake, i did it along with John Dent in his studio in England...
He did an incredible work on the analog mastering sound.
and he was obviously responsible for much of the amazing sound quality of the record!
Only a very few number of records are mastered in the analogic mode nowadays,
meaning cutting lacquer from analog tape and not from a computer...

C'est le gros tune de mon second album solo " Freedom " , l'un des plus beaux track que j'ai jamais fait !
Il est bien crade , brute et profond comme j'aime , je dois rendre hommage au titre original de Christophe " The girl from Salina " qui est sublime , je me devais de faire honneur à cette chanson .
J'ai essayé de tout donner pour cette cover , et la magie a pris de suite lorsque j'ai mixé le break original jamais samplé à ma connaissance de Farida Gangi " II pianoforte " sur le fameux label polonais Muza .
J'aurais rêver inviter Christophe à chanter ma version sur scène , comme je dis souvent " c'est en faisant de grands rèves qu'on fait de grands projets "
La cerise sur le gâteaux fut le mastering du track avec John Dent en direct dans son studio en Angleterre ..
John Dent a fait un super travail sur le son du mastering analogique et il est en parti responsable de la qualité incroyable du disque !
Très très peu de disque vinyle sont actuellement masterisé en mode analogique , c'est à dire qu'on grave la laque à partir des bandes analogiques et non à partir d'un ordinateur ...

After listening to Degiheugi's large discography, my choice settled on this album. It seems to me to be the most successful. I appreciate the richness of hiphop trip-pop jazzy-chill nu-soul sounds. The French vocal are amazing. jef37
