Afro-funk morphing into tribal music evolving finally into afro-disco: you get three boiling ambiances with just one track! It is through a remix of my friend Bosq that I found out about the original version made by the brothers Touré. The album Mandinka Dong, financed by a family loan and with only 700 copies released, became a rarity fortunately being re-edited for everyone’s benefit! That’s mainly the beginning of the Senegalese brotherhood before its familial rule over what will be called “world music” under the name Touré Kunda.

De l’afro-funk qui mute en tribal pour terminer en afro-disco : trois ambiances bouillantes en seul morceau ! C’est par le biais d’un remix de mon ami Bosq que je suis remonté jusqu’à l’original des frères Touré. Financé par un prêt familial, pressé à seulement 700 exemplaires, l’album Mandinka Dong était devenu une rareté, heureusement rééditée pour le bien de tous ! Il s’agit surtout des débuts de la fratrie sénégalaise, avant son règne familial sur ce qu’on appellera la “world music”, sous le nom de Touré Kunda.
