Not being always in tune with trends made me stay away from the cumbia wave that took over all sets about ten years ago.
Therefore, I discovered this record by myself at a time when I got interested in that style made in Colombia. The piano and the brasses come to the ring to fight the percussions while the singer is discussing with the choirs, the central theme being love, its flaws, its joys and its sorrows. This work is only from 1984 but it retains all the original musical codes. Despite that, the original record, the one released on the historic label Discos Fuentes, is a rarity that can reach new heights on specialized online sites.

Être parfois en décalage avec les tendances m’a fait rester en dehors de la vague cumbia qui inondait, et parfois noyait, les sets il y a une dizaine d’années. J’ai donc découvert ce disque par moi-même au moment où je me suis intéressé à ce style made in Colombie. Le piano et les cuivres qui viennent se défier sur le ring des percussions, le chanteur qui dialogue avec ses choeurs, l’amour, ses travers, ses joies et ses peines comme thème central. Conservée avec tous ses codes musicaux d’origine, cette pièce ne date pourtant que de 1984. Malgré cela, le disque original, celui sorti l’historique label Discos Fuentes, est une rareté qui peut atteindre des sommets sur les sites spécialisés.
