A party, an orchestra, music, singing, a dance and an instrument: here are all the things which the word tambora on the Caribbean coast in Colombia is referring to. It’s a musical all-in-one, a traditional style difficult to resist as soon as the percussions come into play. The voice of one of the most renowned artists in that genre is responding to the rhythmic drums on a track that displays a raw beauty unfortunately often massacred by some questionable remixes. As far as I’m concerned, I decided not to edit that track, not even silences, so that its authenticity wouldn’t be affected. It is the only track in this compilation to which that preferential treatment was given.

Une fête, un orchestre, une musique, un chant, une danse et un instrument : voilà tout ce que désigne le mot tambora sur la côte caribéenne de la Colombie. Un tout en un musical, un style traditionnel auquel on peut difficilement résister dès que les percussions entrent en action. La voix d’une des artistes les plus reconnues du genre qui répond à la rythmique des tambours, un morceau d’un beauté brute malheureusement souvent massacrée dans des remixs douteux. En ce qui me concerne, j’ai choisi de ne pas l’éditer pour ne pas toucher, même à un silence, de son authenticité. C’est le seul morceau de toute la compilation à avoir eu ce traitement de faveur.
