There’s two places to drop this tune in a set; either at the very beginning, the raising brass almost announces the start of the festivities. Or, play it somewhere in the middle so the dancefloor can catch their breath. None of the members of Os Tubaroes (The Sharks, in Portuguese) were professional musicians. Music was simply their passion, and yet in eight albums and a career spanning almost twenty years, they became the ambassadors of Cape Verdean music.
