Although that can (“canette” in French) was already released as a twelve-inch on my label Pura Vida Sounds, I always thought, after all, that its flavor was missing something. Therefore, when we went to the studio for Pat’s album (a work in progress at the moment), we decided to re-record it. It needed more fizz and fruit. The idea was to release all its flavors by adding natural brass aromas. When I offered a glass of it to Bosq, he preferred sipping on it alone in his studio and reworking it into his own cocktail. That’s the third version and yet I’m sipping through this can with just as much pleasure as before.

Déjà sortie en maxi sur mon label Pura Vida Sounds, j’avais toujours trouvé que, finalement, cette canette manquait de goût. Aussi, quand on est entrés en studio pour l’album de Pat (en préparation au moment où vous lirez ces lignes en 2021…), on a décidé de le réenregistrer. De lui donner plus de pétillant, plus de fruit. De lui faire libérer tous ses saveurs, notamment en ajoutant des arômes naturels de cuivres. Quand j’en ai proposé un verre à Bosq, il a préféré aller le boire seul dans son studio et refaire son propre cocktail. On en est à la troisième version, et je sirote cette canette avec toujours autant de plaisir.
