Thanks to Fosc, the patron saint of African music in Ibiza, I discovered this contemporary track. At the beginning, there was a German duo who became a trio while recording on the island of Maio an album with Tibau Tavares, the multi-instrumentalist singer.
Between the singing, the choirs and the guitar, no Cape Verdean ingredient gets intimidated or influenced by the robotic beat, its pulsations and its meticulous and ethereal production. However, nobody stays in his corner. The musical purity of the Lusophone Archipelago fuses with such coherence with the German electro-house music that one could swear they were always meant to be together.

C’est à Fosc, le Saint-Patron de la musique africaine à Ibiza, que je dois la découverte de ce titre contemporain. Au départ un duo allemand qui, pour le coup, a muté en trio en enregistrant sur l’île de Maio un album avec le chanteur multi instrumentiste Tibau Tavares.
Chant, choeurs, guitare, aucun ingrédient cap verdien ne se laisse intimider ou influencer par le beat robotique, ses pulsations et sa production léchée et éthérée. Pourtant, personne ne reste dans son coin. La pureté musicale de l’archipel lusophone et l’electro-house germanique fusionnent et s’imbriquent avec une telle cohérence qu’on les jurerait amies intimes depuis toujours.
