One of my all time classics...finally released 10 years later on my latest album "Paradise For All".
I did that track along with Lexi. We built the track around that vocal sample from "The Sons",
then we added a Rhodes, an MPC beat and we later invited a double bassist.
About those "What Is Love" spoken words, I'll leave it to you to discover it...
That John Dent mastering work is absolutely gorgeous here...
For those of you who don't know who he is, John Dent is one of the greatest guys in the mastering world.
He did a ton of things for Island Records back in the day, worked on 5 Bob Marley's albums, and lately,
he worked for PJ Harvey, DJ Shadow, Africa Hitech, Gonjasufi, Squarepusher, Harmonic 313, Nightmares On Wax,
Zero 7, Portishead and a lot more...

Un de mes gros classiques sortie 10 ans plus tard sur mon dernier album " Paradise for all "
Ce titre à été réalisé avec LEXI , nous avons composé autour de la voix samplé du groupe The Sons , puis ajouté un Rhodes , un beat à la MPC et nous avons invité un contre-bassiste . Pour la narration sur " Qu'est-ce que l'amour ? " , je vous laisse le soin de le digger .....
Le mastering de John Dent sur ce titre est juste magnifique ... Pour ceux qui ne le connaissent pas , il est une très grande figure du mastering , il a énormément travaillé à l'époque pour le label Island records et il a entre autre masterisé 5 albums de Bob Marley , plus récemment , il a masterisé PJ Harvey , DJ Shadow , Africa Hitech , Gonjasufi , Squarepusher , Harmonic 313 , Nightmares On Wax , Zero 7 , Portishead et j'en passe ...

After listening to Degiheugi's large discography, my choice settled on this album. It seems to me to be the most successful. I appreciate the richness of hiphop trip-pop jazzy-chill nu-soul sounds. The French vocal are amazing. jef37
